HOLY GHOST TESTIMONY
At age nineteen, after yielding to the call of God on my life, I knew I needed to be baptized in the Holy Ghost. Growing up in services, revivals and camps, I had been prayed for many times by powerful
ministers, but did not respond to God's power. I now had a different attitude. I was more hungry for God than ever before. I grew up in a Holy Ghost church and was never anti-Holy Ghost. I was just not cooperating with God.
In 1983, I attended Kenneth Hagin's Camp Meeting in Tulsa, OK. His books have meant so much to me. Still to this day, other than the Bible, nothing else has impacted my life more. On a Thursday afternoon at a 2:00 pm service, Dr. Roy Hicks, (General overseer of the International Foursquare Gospel church), was ministering. He ministered out of Romans 12:1&2 about presenting your body a living sacrifice. He spoke about worship. At the close of his message, he asked everyone to stand and begin to praise the Lord. I responded by lifting my hands and praising the Lord with my mouth and body. The Holy Ghost came upon me. This time, unlike before, I responded to the Holy Ghost and found myself speaking in tongues as the Spirit gave utterance. Waves of glory flooded my being. I continued praying in the Holy Ghost for over an hour.
As I walked to my car, I thought, "you could have been filled with the Holy Ghost at age seven". That was my earliest recollection of the Holy Spirit coming upon me. If I had only responded to the many times the Holy Spirit came upon me, I truly believe, I would have began preaching earlier.
I have to say the Holy Ghost infilling is the greatest thing that has ever happened to me, subsequent to Salvation. My life has been victorious since His infilling. Before, I had much trouble living a steady, victorious life. I thank God for the Holy Ghost.
